Outage tracking data showed thousands of reports globally as the incident coincided with heightened scrutiny of Anthropic's government contracts and AI restrictions. The company acknowledged elevated error rates but provided no immediate resolution timeline.

Separately, unverified social media reports claimed Iranian missile strikes on AWS data centers in the Middle East, though no official confirmation linked these events to Claude's technical issues.
